About Us
A brief history of Baxi.
Founder Richard Baxendale opened the doors to his new company in 1866. By 1955, Baxi became a household name for heating. The Bermuda, Baxi’s most famous gas-fired boiler was launched in 1966, the same year in which Baxi celebrated 100 years in business.
During the 1980’s Baxi sold to its workforce becoming the UK’s largest employee partnership of its kind. Later that decade, Baxi launched a new low-weight cast iron boiler, The Baxi Solo.
In 1999, Baxi acquired the heating division of Blue Circle and Ocean Idroclima. This synergy between experience and technology gave birth to the Baxi Luna: a new range of wall-hung boilers. The following year, Baxi introduced the first high-efficiency combination heating and domestic hot water boilers to North America.
Baxi merged with De Dietrich and Remeha to form BDR Thermea in 2010, becoming a world leading manufacturer and distributer of sustainable, smart climate and sanitary hot water solutions and services. Baxi celebrated its 150th Anniversary in 2016.
Baxi North America began operations in 2018, as part of BDR Thermea Group, serving the U.S. and Canadian markets. Our high efficiency boilers are straightforward to install, maintain and service. From our customer support to our hands-on training for installers, we are committed to making life with Baxi as easy as possible.
